September 14, 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Join us tomorrow, Friday September 15th, to kick-off the eighth annual Toronto Beer Week with the ceremonial first pour of the official Toronto Beer Week beer at the Summerhill LCBO (10 Scrivener Square). At 4:30pm we will launch the nine-day festival in style while celebrating Canada’s most vibrant craft beer city.
Running from September 15th – 23rd, Toronto Beer Week offers 9 days of great events at over 70 of our city’s finest bars and restaurants, and showcases over 40 breweries. With a broad variety of events waiting to be enjoyed at more than 150 events, Toronto Beer Week promises to offer memorable experiences for everyone from craft beer newbies to grizzled veterans.
This year we pay homage to our great city and its craft beer culture by making a bold statement – that Toronto is the best beer drinking city in Canada. Toronto is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city and the same applies to Toronto’s craft beer scene, with more brewers than ever creating more styles than this city has seen before, and a plethora of bars and restaurants that support that creativity.
“Toronto is home to some of the best beer in the world,” said John Tory, Mayor of Toronto. “There’s no better way to explore our beer, restaurants and neighbourhoods than during Toronto Beer Week. I encourage all Toronto residents to have fun and support our local beers and businesses.”
During Toronto Beer Week, you can experience the best of the city through beer events first-hand. You’ll discover different parts of Toronto through pub crawls, beer dinners, tap takeovers, meet the brewers, industry nights, beer and cheese pairings, new beer releases and much much more.

We’ve also made it easy to celebrate Toronto Beer Week at home with the official Toronto Beer Week beer, available at select LCBO locations across the GTA. Lovingly crafted in a collaborative nature by Junction Craft Brewery, Shacklands Brewing Co. and Rainhard Brewery, the trio of brewers came up with a beer that will endear itself to you: Aleyards Collaboration IPA.
The 6.8% 58 IBU beer will be available throughout Toronto at the LCBO and at select participating bars and restaurants. The beer is described as follows: Aleyards Collaboration IPA was brewed with our signature Kiln Amber malt and Vermont ale yeast. The use of Hallertau Blanc hops in the kettle, followed by dry hopping with Simcoe and Mosaic varieties, has produced a fruity, citrusy IPA with an aggressive hop flavour and aroma.
Toronto Beer Week has been designated as an event of municipal significance by the city, recognizing its importance to the cultural fabric, and allowing extended hours for select bars. The week has grown with the city’s craft beer, more than doubling in size since inception, and now aims to promote great beer year-round with an updated Toronto Beer Guide, your guide to the best bars and breweries in the city. Pick yours up for FREE across Toronto at participating venues and at Toronto LCBO locations.
