For the first time ever in 2016 a 5-kilometre run will join Toronto Beer Week as an official event, bringing together Torontonians’ passion for running and a post-race cold one. Up to 4,000 racers are expected at the inaugural Famous Canadian Beer Run, which will take place at Ontario Place on Sunday, September 18th .
The day starts with a scenic run, which will take participants on a tour of the Ontario Place grounds, taking in stunning lake and city skyline views. Unlike most runs where standard fare is a banana and a sports drink, at the completion of the Famous Canadian Beer Run runners will cross the finish line into the heart of the event’s Craft Beer & Food Festival, where they will spend the afternoon enjoying some of the city finest craft brews from the likes of Beau’s, High Park Brewery, Sawdust City and Great Lakes Brewery, food from sought after food trucks and live entertainment. Both runners and walkers are invited to “earn their beer” at the event, and will take away a commemorative t-shirt, beer stein and race bib for their efforts.
Registration is now open and includes four beverage chips for samples of craft beer and other beverages on-site. Visit www.famouscanadianbeerrun.com for more details.
