Famous Canadian Beer Run Returns in 2017
In 2016 we welcomed the Famous Canadian Beer Run as an official Toronto Beer Week event for the first time. On September 18th, 2016 more than 1,000 runners laced up to take on the 5KM run through Ontario Place, followed by a beer and food festival after-party featuring Canadian craft brewers including the likes of Beau’s and Great Lakes Brewery. The entry fee included 2 beers (or 4 samples), a custom beer stein, a t-shirt, race kit and live entertainment by Jane’s Party.
This year we are thrilled to welcome the Famous Canadian Beer Run back as an official event partner. The 2017 event date is Sunday, September 17th with a brand new route at Ontario Place. In addition, the ENTIRE West Island of Ontario Place will be licenced for the after-party, offering participants ample room to roam and chill post-race. The event will also be tripling the number of beer and food vendors to accommodate more participants.
This 5K run is designed with fun (and great beer, of course!) in mind. The course offers stunning views of the lake and city skyline and participants can walk, jog or hammer the course according to their level of experience. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome. While there is no beer on the course, runners and walkers are rewarded at the finish line with a custom beer stein and tokens to enjoy their first two “recovery” beers.
Registration is now open for the 2017 Famous Canadian Beer Run. Early bird discounts are available until December 31st and the first 300 to register receive a vintage-style “Run Hoppy” toque to keep warm during the cold winter training months! For more information visit www.runforbeer.ca
