Craft beer takes over the City: Toronto Beer Week, Sept. 16th to 24th

September 15, 2016 – Join us, and Toronto Mayor John Tory to kick-off the seventh annual Toronto Beer Week with the ceremonial first pour of the official Toronto Beer Week beer at the Summerhill LCBO. On September 16th, at 4:30pm, we’ll launch the weekend in style and celebrate Canada’s most vibrant craft beer culture.

Running from September 16th – 24th, Toronto Beer Week offers 9 days of great events at over 70 of our city’s finest bars and restaurants, and showcases over 35 breweries. With a broad variety of events waiting to be enjoyed at more than 125 events, Toronto Beer Week promises to offer memorable experiences for everyone from craft beer newbies to grizzled veterans.

This year we pay homage to our great city by co-opting it’s shield and slogan. Toronto is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city – diversity is certainly our strength. The same applies to Toronto’s craft beer scene, with more brewers than every creating more styles than ever, and a plethora of bars for every taste. During Toronto Beer Week, you can experience this diversity first-hand. When else can you choose between pairing your beer with bratwurst (Oktoberfest at Steamwhistle), and your ale with arias (Hopera at The Monarch Tavern). You can beer run, beer crawl or just sit and beer.

We’ve also made it easy to celebrate Toronto Beer Week at home with the official Toronto Beer Week beer, available at select LCBO locations across the GTA. Lovingly crafted by the amazing team at Indie Alehouse, The Interloper is a barrel-aged modern take on the farmhouse saison. Like Toronto, it’s a complex mix of cultural influences and tastes, resulting in a rich flavour and an amazing depth that can be enjoyed by all.

Toronto Beer Week has been designated as an event of municipal significance by the city, recognizing its importance to the cultural fabric, and allowing extended hours for select bars. The week has grown with the city’s craft beer – more than doubling in size since inception, and now aims to promote great beer year-round with the introduction of the Toronto Beer Guide – your guide to the best bars and breweries in the city.

The Summerhill LCBO is located just off Yonge Street at 10 Scrivener Square.
