On Thursday September 20th during Toronto Beer Week we will examine the brewing process and focus on what malt does to beer. Malt gives beer its color, mouthfeel, sweetness, and much of its overall flavour – we will sample a wide range of malts, taste fresh wort made with those malts, and even brew some wort right at your table!

Malted Barley is the main driver for beer, and is available in a rainbow of colours and flavours. Malted Wheat is another popular grain that finds its way into many different beer styles. But it doesn’t end there. Rye, oats, millet, buckwheat and more are also malted and turned into delicious ingredients for the brewer to play with.

11am – 9pm, with special presentations between noon and 1pm, and 4 and 7pm.
