TBW is a series of events dedicated to the celebration and advancement of the craft beer movement. TBW will showcase authentically brewed and flavourful beer, the talented brewers who create them, and the licensees who proudly support them. It’s all about good beer – no bland, mega beer permitted!
TBW is a collectively owned organization involving some of Toronto’s most seasoned and passionate beer industry members. Our team includes publicans, brewers, media, marketers, and authors, all bringing their valuable experience and vision to create a significant event that reflects the best interests of all participants.

George Milbrandt – Chair
George is a graduate of the Architectural Technology program at Ryerson University. At 27, an early mid-life crisis hit and he decided to open up a pub. Twenty-five years later he is still the President of C’est What, the first establishment in Toronto to exclusively serve local craft beer and wine.
Troy Burtch
Creator of the popular Great Canadian Beer Blog, avid Brewreriana collector, and Sales & Social Media rep for the Great Lakes Brewery in Etobicoke. Co-founder of Toronto Beer Week.

Wearing many hats at a local craft brewery for the past few years, John likes to pretend he knows how to brew. But he’s really much better at just drinking good beer. John now lives in Banff, AB and misses all the flavour here in Toronto!
Ian Howes
Ian craves to be challenged with flavour and wonders how he was misled for so many years into drinking bland industrial suds. Coming from outside the beer industry Ian is primarily concerned with getting better beer on offer throughout Toronto. Working to connect the best brewers, bars and restaurants with the goal of being able to have a great beer at any licensee in our city. All of this with a sustainable, local edge.

Alix loves craft beer, local flavour, and telling people how much she loves craft beer and local food. With a background in events, communications and beer sales, Alix is excited to be a part of the TBW team promoting craft beer to anyone who will list (and taste).
